Settlement Conference

A settlement conference is a mediation process in which the parties attend with their attorneys (if they are represented).

The parties and their attorneys are generally in separate rooms. An attorney mediator will convey offers between the parties, provide the parties with his or her view as to the strengths and weaknesses of their case and provide an opinion as to the likely outcome at trial. The parties may submit written materials to the mediator in advance, prior to the scheduled settlement conference session.

Settlement Conferences are scheduled as a 4-8 hour session to provide the parties with the opportunity to resolve all the issues in one session.
